About

A small firm, for small firms.

Nelvant exists to answer one question service firms can't get from their accountant: which jobs actually make money.

One — Why this exists

Most firms price on gut. The gut is usually wrong twice.

Accountants report at company level. Job software records at job level but never closes the loop to cost. In between sits the question that decides whether a year was good: which work earned, and which work just filled the calendar.

We kept meeting owners who could quote their revenue to the dollar and their margin by job type not at all. That gap is the business.

Two — What we're building

A report first. Software second.

Stage one is the Profit Report: your last 12 months, mapped by an analyst, delivered in five working days. Stage two is live tracking — the same numbers, kept current, answering “what's my floor for this quote?” the moment you need it.

We're deliberately building the software after the reports, not before. Every report teaches the engine what real firms' data actually looks like.

Three — The name

Why "Nelvant"?

Short, pronounceable over the phone, and free of baggage. It doesn't mean anything yet — the reports are what will give it a meaning.

Four — Who's behind it

People who priced jobs wrong first.

A small team with a background in service operations and cost analysis. Every report is built and checked by a person, and the person who builds yours is the one on your walkthrough call. Email hello@nelvant.com and a founder answers.

Five — How we work

Slow on purpose, honest by default.

  1. 01Four reports a month, maximum — quality over queue.
  2. 02If the audit finds nothing material, we say so and refund the £500 / $650 in full.
  3. 03Your data is used for your analysis only, deleted on request, never shared or sold.
  4. 04Estimates are shown as estimates, with their effect on the result.
