Where you lose customers
How often you appear at each stage of the journey, on each AI.
Found fairly often, rarely picked. The firm loses most customers at the comparison, not the search.
INCLUDED WITH YOUR REPORT
We act as your customers. We ask ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini 60 questions built for your trade, your services and the towns you cover, and read all 360 answers. You see where you’re found, where you’re passed over and why, and what to change first.
WHY IT MATTERS
Customers used to type a few words into Google and scroll a list. More and more now describe the problem to an AI and get one answer with a few names, and a reason for each.
plumber Stockport
Ten links, adverts and a map. The customer compares them.
Our boiler keeps losing pressure and it’s 14 years old. Repair or replace? We’re in Stockport, who could look at it?
Three names, compared for you: who has the reviews, who shows prices, who covers your town. The AI has already done the comparing.
HOW WE SEARCH
A customer goes through four stages before they ring anyone. We cover all four, with your services, the towns you cover and the work you specialise in. Each question is asked 3 times on ChatGPT and 3 times on Gemini, because answers vary.
Below is a full example sweep for Cresswell Plumbing & Heating, an invented heating firm in Stockport. Yours is written for your business.
What we record: Whether you are named at all, where in the answer, and who is named instead.
The old Google habit: a few words typed into AI.
The same need, asked as a sentence.
The customer describes the problem. We record whether AI suggests a professional before being asked, then who it names.
Landlords, new buyers, someone arranging work for a parent, a small business.
Whether AI links you with the work you want more of.
Urgent but safe. We never use gas smells, carbon monoxide or flooding.
Your home town is not the only place customers search from.
WHAT YOU GET
Every example result below is invented, for the same invented firm. It shows the kind of findings your report contains.
How often you appear at each stage of the journey, on each AI.
Found fairly often, rarely picked. The firm loses most customers at the comparison, not the search.
The same need, typed as keywords and described as a conversation.

The reasons AI gives when it picks one firm over another, side by side.
Customer: Which would you pick and why?
AI: I’d start with Northgate Heating. They show fixed prices for combi installs and have a lot of recent reviews that mention installs. Cresswell Plumbing & Heating is well reviewed for repairs, but I couldn’t find prices or examples of installs.
The firms named most often, how often each is picked, and why.
When a customer looks you up by name, we check each fact against your business, and say how to fix what’s wrong.
The sources behind the answers, and which ones you control.
Three quarters of what AI said came from places you can edit.
Ranked actions, each tied to the stage it improves. Your financial report tells us which work is most profitable, so we put that work first.
Northgate, the firm with published prices, was picked first in 29 of 78 comparison answers. In this example, boiler installs are also the firm’s most profitable work per engineer hour, so they’re the work to win.
Shortlists were built on reviews that describe the work. Most of this firm’s reviews mention repairs, so AI doesn’t link it with installs.
Named in 0 of 18 answers for Marple and Hazel Grove, where the firm works every week.
6 of the 18 “before I ring” answers told customers the firm is closed on Saturdays.
Nobody owned this niche in the answers. One detailed job story gives AI something specific to cite.
